Who is Dr. Green? My name is Dr Claudette Green, and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, health care leader and founder of Ascentia Mind and Body Wellness Center,
PLLC. I have over 20 years of nursing experience, with a background that includes cardiac nursing, leadership, administration and mental health care. My passion is helping individuals feel seen, heard and supported while creating safe spaces for healing and growth. My Family and I are originally from Jamaica, West Indies. We spent 10 years in Queens NY prior to relocating to Charlotte NC over 20 years ago. My husband and I have 5 children and adopted twin girls later in life.
Tell us about your educational background? In Jamaica, my first career was as a Home Economics Teacher after completing a secondary school Diploma. After migrating to the United States, I fell in love with nursing and returned to school to complete a associate degree in Burins at Cabarrus College of Health Science, followed by a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Winston Salem State University, a MHA/MBA at Pfeiffer University and my terminal degree a Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner at Gardner Webb University.
Describe your company and who are your customers? Ascentia Mind and Body Wellness Center is a hybrid mental health practice based in both Charlotte and Fort Mill, serving adolescents and adults ages 11 and up. We provide compassionate, culturally responsive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy and holistic mental wellness support. We work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, trauma, stress related conditions, and other mental health concerns. Our goal is to make quality mental health care accessible, personalized and stigma free.
What do you do on a daily basis? On a daily basis, I exercise for at least one hour as a means of self care and for my own mental wellbeing. It is difficult to pour into others if your cup is not filled. I also spend time building my practice, connecting with the community, developing resources for clients and creating systems that make mental healthcare feel more personal, accessible and compassionate.
What are your personal and/or professional goals? My goal is to help people feel safe enough to become themselves again. Professionally, I would want my practice to be known as a place where people feel cared for as human beings, not just diagnoses. Personally, I want to continue growing into a life that balances purpose, peace, family, creativity and service. I hope the work I do leaves people feeling less alone and more hopeful about their future.
Other than work, what are you most passionate about? Outside of work, I am passionate about personal growth, story telling, mental health advocacy and creating meaningful connections with people. I enjoy writing, reflecting, encouraging others, and having honest conversations about healing, identity and resilience. I’m also deeply passionate about helping underserved communities feel represented and supportive. In addition, I am passionate about family time and spending time with my grandchildren.
