No need for work space? Here are ways you can benefit from LOOM in Fort Mill!

How Coworking coming to our suburban downtown can help you, even if you don’t need work space!

Folks who work in a typical office or who are happy as a clam working from home often tune out when we begin talking about the benefits of being part of a Coworking community. However, take a moment and consider how you and every member of the greater York County area can be involved!

SHARE YOUR GIFTS:

Consider ways that you could be involved as a showcased artist, guest speaker, business mentor, etc. This summer is an exciting time in the development of our arts programs. Starting May 2nd, LOOM will be accepting photography entries from professionals and novices and all ages of residents for our first exhibit which encourages an appreciation for our beautiful downtown area. Find out more under “The Community” on our website.

Our goal when it comes to continuing ed is to tap into the amazing knowledge and talent we have in the York County area. Are you itching to share your passion and skills with others but need just the right audience? Our diverse membership will be a welcoming group eager to participate in lunch and learns, seminars, and workshops and our special events facility will be perfect for your larger meetings and private classes.

Our Programming Coordinator is also actively seeking those who would enjoy serving as business mentors to members new to the start-up scene. If you are a successful entrepreneur or other type of professional, wouldn’t it be great to help others get their footing?

BECOME A SUPPORTER OR VIRTUAL MEMBER:

Supporter or Virtual members are those who want to have a connection to the community and reap some of the benefits. These valuable members get discounted day passes, meeting room access, and the ability to rent out the special events space for larger events. They also will have access to the online member network and will receive invitations to all open and members-only events!

BECOME A PARTNER OR SPONSOR:

Do you want to get your name and product in front of a slew of eager consumers? Do you like knowing you had a part in making Fort Mill thrive?

Community Benefit Partners are local business owners who support our members while reaping the benefits of the increased foot traffic and brand marketing done by our staff. These partners offer helpful and creative discounts to our members for goods and services in the downtown and greater Fort Mill area. As little as a 10% commitment can draw an entirely new market to your business! Do you own or work for a restaurant, store or service provider that could take advantage of this opportunity?

  • The Learning Experience (Tega Cay and Ballantyne) and Field of Dreams (Fort Mill and Indian Land/Ballantyne) have a wide range of options for child care, after-school and camps and are generously offering a 10% discount off child care for full-time and part-time LOOM members.

Corporate Partners are people and firms who make a long term commitment to support each other’s efforts. Currently, LOOM has two partners who we greatly appreciate:

  • Alfred Williams is one of the largest commercial furnishings dealerships in the region. They represent Herman Miller as well as dozens of other brands and will make our facility a living showroom of sorts, coming in and updating our furnishings so that member needs are always met. In addition to supplying the furniture for our space, they will also be sharing knowledge by hosting lunch and learns and educational events regarding ergonomics, work styles, and countless other business related topics.

  • Comporium will be partnering with us to bring Zipstream Gigabit internet service to the community, allowing our members to have the high speed connectivity and security they need to help their businesses thrive. We will also be partnering with them to bring continuing education regarding diverse technology topics as well as opportunities for philanthropy (such as Habitat for Humanity) via their Pioneers Club programs.

Sponsors are firms and people who make a short term commitment to support a particular event or goal. This might include providing food and drink for events we will facilitate, either using your own product (beer!) or product from one of our many local vendors. Sponsors can also be those who donate items towards the community start-up, helping LOOM get off to a great start by helping to provide things like small appliances, tv monitors, copier/printer, office supplies, etc. Anything donated assists us with keeping member costs low and allows us to invest more in programs and other amenities.

Becoming a one time or on-going sponsor of educational, professional development, social events and other community programming ensures we can continually offer high quality events and programs while opening up a window for countless in-person, on-line and social media marketing efforts!

ATTEND COMMUNITY EVENTS AT LOOM AND IN FORT MILL (AND SHARE WITH OTHERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA!):

Throughout the year, downtown Fort Mill hosts a range of community events and we encourage our members and all residents to show up in support! Gallery@LOOM receptions will coincide with First Friday Fort Mill events and will be open to the public.

Marge-Moody-Artist-portrait-in-studioThis summer, in addition to the photography exhibit, we also will have on exhibit an excellent show of work from the Winthrop Union of Student Artists and will also be collecting entries for an August show highlighting our amazing art educators in our local K-12 schools! We also are proud to announce that our first professional one-woman show will be from Marge Loudon Moody, internationally shown artist, McColl Center Artist in Residence, and professor at Winthrop.

At LOOM, we believe in localism and community engagement. Any value we can bring to downtown, we bring to the community as a whole.  As you can see, there are an endless amount of ways for the greater Fort Mill community to get involved …. Why don’t you!?!?
