Intro – Bio, family, where are you from? I am Aaron Bunting and my wife is Amy; we have two kids, our daughter Vivian who is 12 and our son Russell who is 8. We have two pugs, Rosie and Junior. I was born and raised in Connecticut and lived there until I was 30 years old. Then moved to Tacoma, WA for 6 years and then moved to Fort Mill (Baxter) in 2017.
Tell us about your Education? I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Connecticut, graduated in 2003; and I have a MBA from the University of Connecticut, graduated in 2007.
Sports? Baseball, I am a Mets fan, NFL I am a Giants & Seahawks fan, and anything UConn.
How did JD Fields start? JD Fields was started 35 years ago by Jerry Fields as a distributor of steel pipe and construction products in Houston, TX
Describe JD Fields and who are your customers? We sell steel products to the construction industry, primarily Bridges and Waterfront Ports. These structures require intensive project management and as the steel supplier we serve the critical role of ensuring our scope of work goes flawlessly for the contractor.
What do you do on a daily basis and why? On a daily basis I balance the pursuit of new business by bidding projects and project managing the ongoing jobs. It is a constant cycle of filling up the pipe line and delivering the backlog.
What’s your past life? How did skills and background that got you here to where you are? My first job out of college was a customer service role in a call center. I really enjoyed helping people and being the person with the answers. The ability to get to know customers and take care of them and their needs is something I value very highly. This has served me well in my sales career.
What are your personal and professional goals? My professional goal is to do something I enjoy for a living that can pay for the lifestyle I want for myself. I feel that I am in that place now. Personally it is about having cohesion in my family and being healthy.
Other than your work, what are you most passionate about? You said I cant say work, right? I am passionate about forming genuine relationships with great people. I also very into food (Vegan Dishes especially) and I am a self proclaimed sports nut.
Why did you initially come to LOOM? I wanted a place to spread out and work. I just don’t have a true workspace at home. I could have gotten dedicated office space just for myself but it is too expensive. LOOM is the perfect mix of both affordability and functionality.
