Emily Brown Law is graduating!

January 1, 2020, Emily Brown walked into LOOM Coworking ready to start her own firm. Since then, she has become a valued member of our community, an important part of our local business ecosystem, and a great friend.
She is now ready for her very own facility and, although we hate to see her go, we are so excited for her new adventure!

Attorney Emily Brown joined LOOM Coworking when she launched her own firm: Emily Brown Law, LLC. She chose law as a second career, following a five year stint in law enforcement with the Rock Hill Police Department.

After completing her law degree at the University of South Carolina, Emily worked for five years for York County as their Assistant County Attorney, primarily working on eminent domain and land use matters. During that time, people would come into the office looking for help with real estate problems and she realized there were very few attorneys who specialized in property law. She quickly learned she enjoyed working through real estate issues and decided to start her firm serving people and businesses who own or develop property.

Emily started her business at the height of the pandemic, working from home and a couple of days a week at LOOM which offered her a variety of rooms in a professional environment to meet with clients and a place where she could interact with other people. Since she did everything herself, she used technology to increase efficiency and serve her clients better. When the pandemic hit, she easily transitioned to more virtual meetings to continue serving her clients. In 2021, she added a part-time law student who works virtually from Columbia which allowed her to increase her work time at LOOM. Recently, Emily expanded her practice by hiring Casey Curtis as her administrative assistant. The need for a larger work space will “graduate” her from LOOM as she moves her practice to a new commercial space in Rock Hill.

Emily’s new office is located in the Therapy Resource Group Building on Oakland Avenue in Rock Hill. She found the space through LOOM Member Aaron Gaskins, who’s wife maintains a practice in the same building. Though Emily will primarily work from the new Rock Hill office, she will continue to maintain a virtual membership at LOOM, which is more convenient for her clients in Lancaster County.

We have been so blessed over the last 2.5 years to have Emily as part of our community, sharing her expertise, her humor and compassion. We will miss both her and Casey but wish them the greatest success as they continue to grow!!!
